Cohort Two launched in Fall 2022 and consisted of a series of webinars highlighting public health practitioners, organizers, and movement leaders. Topics included:
- The intersections of abolition and public health
- How to do power-mapping and one-to-ones in organizing campaigns
- Decriminalization efforts across the US regarding abortion, drugs, trans rights, and criminalization of young people in schools
- Abolitionist student organizing campaigns across the US
- Communicating about abolition to different audiences
In between the webinar sessions, a national cohort of public health students, faculty, staff, and practitioners met in small groups online to work through the Towards Abolition curriculum, a learning and action guide created to frame the importance of abolition for the public health field and support public health professionals to identify ways they can support PIC abolition in their work.
